While you may think financial success doesn't matter much in Academy Award considerations, you'd be mistaken. It appeared for a while that Wonder Woman was on course to snag the #1 spot on the all-time superhero origin list, but in the final few weeks it became less clear whether or not the film had enough momentum left - and enough potential uncounted receipts from some markets - to surpass Spider-Man's longstanding $821.7.
